Library Guidelines

Library Rules & Regulations

The library is the heart of academic learning. Every student, faculty member, and visitor is expected to maintain discipline and follow the library rules to ensure a peaceful and productive learning environment for everyone.

Membership

  • Library membership is open to all enrolled students, teaching staff, and non-teaching staff of the college.
  • A valid College Identity Card must be produced while using library facilities.

Library Timings

  • The library shall remain open during college working hours as notified by the college administration.
  • Timings may change during examinations, vacations, or special circumstances.

Issue of Books

  • Books are issued only on presentation of a valid library / college Identity Card.
  • The number of books and loan period shall be as per the college library norms.
  • Reference books, journals, magazines and newspapers are for library use only unless otherwise permitted.

Return & Renewal

  • Borrowed books must be returned on or before the due date.
  • Renewal is allowed only if the book has not been reserved by another reader.

Late Return

  • A fine may be charged for overdue books as per library rules.
  • Students with overdue books may not be allowed to borrow additional books until clearance.

Loss or Damage of Books

  • If a book is lost, damaged, or defaced, the borrower must replace the same book or pay the cost as decided by the library authority.
  • Writing, underlining, or marking in library books is strictly prohibited.

Discipline in the Library

  • Silence must be maintained inside the library at all times.
  • Mobile phones should be kept on silent mode.
  • Eating, drinking, and smoking inside the library are strictly prohibited.

Personal Belongings

  • Bags and other personal belongings should be kept at the designated place if instructed by the library staff.
  • The library is not responsible for any loss of personal belongings.

Use of Library Resources

  • Library books, journals, newspapers, and digital resources should be used carefully and responsibly.
  • Students are requested to return books to the issue counter after use.

General Instructions

  • Students should cooperate with library staff and follow all instructions issued from time to time.
  • Violation of library rules may result in suspension of library membership or disciplinary action by the college.
