Library Rules & Regulations

The Library of Sushma Patil Night College functions to support the academic and research needs of students and faculty. All library users are requested to follow the rules and regulations strictly to ensure smooth functioning and a disciplined learning environment.

1. Membership

  • Library membership is open to all enrolled students, teaching staff, and non-teaching staff of the college.

  • A valid College Identity Card must be produced while using library facilities.

2. Library Timings

  • The library shall remain open during college working hours as notified by the college administration.

  • Timings may change during examinations, vacations, or special circumstances.

3. Issue of Books

  • Books are issued only on presentation of a valid library/college ID card.

  • The number of books and loan period will be as per college library norms.

  • Reference books, journals, magazines, and newspapers are for library use only unless otherwise permitted.

4. Return and Renewal

  • Borrowed books must be returned on or before the due date.

  • Renewal of books may be allowed if there is no waiting demand from other users.

  • Late returns will attract a fine as per library rules.

5. Care of Library Materials

  • Library books and resources should be handled with care.

  • Writing, marking, tearing pages, or damaging library materials is strictly prohibited.

  • Any loss or damage must be reported immediately to the librarian.

6. Silence and Discipline

  • Absolute silence must be maintained inside the library.

  • Mobile phones should be kept on silent mode.

  • Eating, drinking, and smoking inside the library are strictly prohibited.

7. Personal Belongings

  • Users should keep their personal belongings at designated places, if provided.

  • The library will not be responsible for loss of personal items.

8. Misuse and Penalties

  • Misuse of library resources or violation of rules will lead to disciplinary action.

  • Students may be barred from using library facilities for repeated misconduct.

9. Clearance / No Dues

  • Students must obtain library clearance and return all borrowed materials before appearing for examinations or applying for certificates.

10. Authority

  • The Librarian has the authority to enforce library rules and maintain discipline.

  • The College Management reserves the right to amend the rules whenever necessary.
